Ferrari 355, the Last Analog

Ferrari 355, the Last Analog

The Ferrari 355 captures a sweet spot that no longer exists: exotic performance with minimal electronic interference. It's a driving experience delivered through sound, revs, and feedback rather than turbochargers and software. Paired with a timeless Pininfarina design, the F355 is compelling to own, drive - and especially preserve.

We jump at projects that peel back years of patchwork repair to build back cohesive, everlasting quality. This particular Ferrari will be stripped all the way down in order to restore its factory color, Blue Chiaro.

Paint Restoration Steps

  • Disassemble vehicle
  • Strip to bare metal
  • Spray epoxy primer
  • Block sand
  • Panel alignment
  • Spray base coat
  • Spray clear coat
  • Wet sand and polish
  • Buff and polish
  • Reassemble vehicle
  • Final polish

The process will take several weeks and when finished, the F355 joins a growing portfolio of Ferraris to pass through the Griot's Motors Restoration and/or Sales Departments including: a 512 BBi, Roma, 328 GTB, Portofino, 550 Maranello, F40 and 488 Pista.

More About the F355

Historically, the Ferrari 355 represents a turning point for their V8 lineage, bridging the gap between raw early cars and the modern supercar era. It introduced genuinely advanced engineering for a road-going Ferrari of the 1990s; most notably its 3.5-liter, 5-valve-per-cylinder V8 that revved to 8,500 rpm and delivered one of the most celebrated exhaust notes in automotive history. The F355 also marked a leap forward in aerodynamics, chassis balance, and overall usability, redefining what a Ferrari could be on real roads without dulling its edge.

Compared to its predecessor, the 348, the F355 was more stable, forgiving, and confidence-inspiring, yet still deeply engaging. It offered a level of polish that made spirited driving accessible rather than intimidating, while the gated six-speed manual became a benchmark for tactile, mechanical feel. Even Ferrari’s early F1 paddle-shift system debuted here, signaling the technological direction the brand would follow for decades.
