We’re pleased to offer this European-market 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB, an early fiberglass (vetroresina) example, presented as a running and driving project and offered at no reserve. As one of the more desirable variants of the 308 lineup, early Euro cars benefit from lighter fiberglass construction and dry-sump lubrication, making them particularly sought after among collectors and enthusiasts.
This 308 GTB was acquired by the current owner in 2017 from Symbolic Motorcars in San Diego, California, and has since been stored in a climate-controlled facility. The car carries an interesting international history, having been imported to California when new, later exported to Japan, and eventually returning to California prior to the current ownership.
It presents as an honest driver-quality example with the right bones and an excellent foundation for continued recommissioning or restoration.
In preparation for the sale, the owner commissioned a round of mechanical work to bring the car back to running condition. The fuel system was addressed with the removal of old fuel, and the carburetors were removed and cleaned. Additional service included new spark plugs, fresh engine oil and filter, new coolant, and a rebuilt set of rear brake calipers. A new battery has also been installed.
