Crusty, and Flawless
We are wrapping up a one-of-a-kind project that perfectly blends rugged nostalgia with modern performance. This 1979 Jeep Honcho was brought to us by an avid adventurer and long-time client.
While the exterior retains its original, weathered charm, every inch beneath the surface tells a different story. The Griot’s Motors team performed a full frame-off restoration, addressing every mechanical component with precision.
The factory 360 V8 was upgraded to a fuel-injected, mildly modified 401 to deliver reliable power with a vintage rumble. Meanwhile, the undercarriage and engine bay were meticulously rust-protected and finished with fresh paint to ensure durability without compromising the Honcho’s patina.
Finishing touches include a light bar for the rear bed and a conversion to the older style J10 front grill. It’s a true sleeper - crusty on the outside, flawless underneath.
