150 Hours
This VW GTI Mk2 achieves beautiful and flawless paint with great texture without disassembly. 150 hours of prep are put into making sure we get a brilliant and durable finish for the car. It's a great paint job for someone who's known to drive their cars hard.

300 Hours
This Porsche 911 RS is equally amazing, but still a smaller scope of work than a show car. It still had a bare metal, glass-out respray, but it never needed to be restored or fully disassembled. Keen attention was paid to the original details and characteristics of the car, to achieve this absolutely stunning finish.

500 Hours
To reach Concours-level perfection for this BMW 3.0 CSi, we've completely disassembled it, stripped it down to bare metal, reassembled it, and sculpted it back to perfection. An incredible amount of detail is paid at each step so that every millimeter under the top coat provides a flawless finish to the eye.
Show Quality Paint: Step-By-Step
The Griot's Motors Paint Department takes the car down to bare metal for a full 'Grade A' paint job and won't actually start applying paint until the surface itself is absolutely perfect. Here's a breakdown of the paint process at its highest level.
Prep
- Disassemble and strip entire vehicle
- Spray epoxy primer on body panels
- Reassemble, straighten panels
- Complete gap fitment
Repair
- Complete metal repair (Address dents, rust, etc)
- Use filler to enhance body lines, and perfect flow
Prime
- Spray and block out polyester primer
- Disassemble panels for final prep
- Reapply seam sealer
- Apply primer sealer
Paint
- Base color coat
- Five coats of clear coat
- Block sand clear coat
- Buff and polish
