A Vette Like No Other
The first Corvette debuted in 1953 at a time when American cars were big and heavy. Yet it was unlike anything else coming out of Detroit - light, sleek, and sporty. A legend was born from the marriage of European roadster aesthetics and American V8 muscle.
Speaking of "unlike anything else"... Griot's Motors took on a 1963 Corvette project with bold ambitions. We loved this restomod especially because of its thoughtful modernizations that stay true to the spirit of the car.
Over several months, the Griot's Motors fabrication, mechanical and paint experts teamed up to craft a dark knight - beautiful and fierce, inside and out.Â
One of the most satisfying aspects of restoring a classic car is getting every detail just-right. This is where fabricators and painters work hand in hand to perfect body lines, and where hours go into sleek interiors.
Restorations
- Body repairs, refining
- Full Concours-quality paintÂ
- Restored brightworkÂ
- Restored leather interiorÂ
This Corvette was built to be driven, and in modern times that often means upgrades. In this case more power was added with a Aluminum block 427 engine, and its efficiency was improved with a TREMEC transmission.
Let's not forget the details that make this Vette stand out; it's you'd-never-know bluetooth radio and air ducts taken from decorative to functional. The fiberglass hood was reconstructed to accommodate for this added ventilation from the CNC'd air ducts.
Modifications
- Aluminum block 427 engine
- TREMEC transmission upgrade
- Reconstructed fiberglass hood
- Custom made air ducts
- Power steering
- Power brakes
- Vintage-style sticky tires
- Bluetooth radioÂ
Taking a car to its full potential always gets us pumped - even more so when we know the client builds cars to drive them.
If you see the dark knight whizzing around Tacoma, well, stay in the right lane except to pass.Â
