1976 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40

This 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 is a diesel-powered example that underwent a restoration in Costa Rica before being imported to the United States in 2023. Finished in Sand Beige over a simple gray vinyl interior, the truck shows just over 20,000 kilometers on the mechanical odometer.

Power comes from a diesel inline-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

Equipment is minimal in classic Land Cruiser fashion and includes steel doors, a folding windshield, a rear swing-out door, manually locking front hubs, and a cabin heater. The interior retains a straightforward utility layout with twin bucket seats, painted floors, and rear jump seats.

We are representing this BJ40 as a running and driving project. The truck starts, runs, steers, and stops, but it would benefit from additional mechanical sorting and refinements to be fully road-ready and “bulletproof.” Buyers are encouraged to review the gallery and inspection notes to understand its current condition and needs.

This BJ40 is located at our Tacoma facility and available for inspection/ viewing by appointment.
